There are 2 main type of chemical feeder used in domestic swimming pools, online and offline.
When online is used this type is directly connected to the pool pipework normally at the bottom of the equipment, the whole of the pool water flow passing through a small tank at the bottom. Chemical normally in the form of tablets adds a dose as the water passes through the machine returning to the pool.
Offline is similar in construction being again tablet gravity fed but a small tube takes only a sample of water, doses and then returns via a small tube again back to the main return flow to the pool.
